Things To Do

Places

Walk the WaterFront and Historic District in Downtown Beaufort

Only a short 10 minute shuttle away from the Beaufort Hotel: Downtown Beaufort is known for its incredible history and stunning waterfront views. You can take an afternoon walk along Front Street, see century old homes and coastal architecture, shop for summer apparel, and even grab an ice cream cone as a treat!

Take an unforgettable Ferry Ride from DownTown Beaufort or Harkers Island to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout National Seashore

Right along Taylor's Creek lies Shackleford Banks: one of the most unique deserted islands in North Carolina and home to some beautiful wild horses. There are Passenger Ferries from both Downtown Beaufort and Harkers Island that not only take you to Shackleford Banks, but Meredith's favorite place on earth - Cape Lookout National Seashore, home to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. We highly suggest going online to make a reservation beforehand as Memorial Day weekend is the kickoff to their busiest time of year.

Have a Beach Day

While Beaufort itself is not beach front, there are some local beach accesses we suggest looking into if some sand and salty air is what you're aiming for - Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores, Fort Macon, Cape Lookout, and much more! Take an afternoon to kick back for a while and soak up some summertime sunshine before the big day.

Paddle Boarding & Kayaking Adventures

Right around the Rachel Carson Reserve, located in Downtown Beaufort, you can rent out some Paddle Boards or Kayaks to enjoy the beautiful nature of the North Carolina Inner Banks. Have a chance to soak in the calm water and potentially see some interesting wildlife!

Other…

Beaufort Historic Site guided tours, North Carolina Maritime Museum, local fishing charters, Dolphin Spotting tours, Boat rentals, Bike and Golf cart rentals.
